ment had 16 teams taking part. The first session
began with Ottery St Mary and Broadclyst both win-
ning and gaining eight shots on their opposition.
Broadclyst continued their run in the second of their
sessions, adding a further six shots to their tally, whilst
Ottery went down by two. St. Teresa’s, who had suf-
fered a first round setback, won and gained eight
shots.
Round three saw Broadclyst go down by four
shots, whilst St. Teresas won by ten shots. The fourth Winners in green, Don Bicker,
round saw Broadclyst and St. Teresas pitched against Bridget Hallowes and Ken Spiller
each other and sharing the points at six shots each.
Broadclyst won again in the final game picking up another four shots, whilst St Teresas also
won but with eight shots easing through to the final by one shot difference.
The other half of the draw saw Colyton begin their cam-
paign with an eight shot advantage, whereas Cerne Abbas
began with a ten shot difference and Mutterton with six.
Round two saw Colyton gain a further five shots, whereas
Mutterton gained eleven, and Cerne Abbas suffered a de-
feat.
Round three saw both Colyton and Mutterton gain eight
more shots. Mutterton gained another four shots in their next
game, whilst Colyton gained seven. In the last of the group
games, both teams won again, Mutterton by three shots and

one shot.
Runners-up In light blue,
Fred Harland, Ann Ward In the final, the Colyton team of Don Dicker, Bridget
and Rex Anstis Hallowes and Skip Ken Spiller began with Don drawing long,
while the team of St Teresas Ann Ward, Fred Harland and
skip Rex Anstis, drew two woods inside the lead-off, Bridget was a little heavy, but Fred cov-
ered the space behind. Ken had a toucher but was a little too heavy and lost by one shot.
End two saw Colyton redeem the situation where they gained two shots to lead. End
three saw Don outdraw his opposite to hold two, Bridget went close but Fred outdrew her and
he held two, so with neither skip doing better St Teresas two put them in front. On to end four
where Ann had a toucher but finished a foot wide, Don drew short and Ann had a second
toucher but again ended wide, Bridget ended wide Fred drew behind and the end was decided
when Rex drew shot.
After a loose start, although Ann had a toucher which finished wide, Fred drew shot,
Bridget went through by inches. Ken had a toucher but gave the shot away, so one more to
St Teresas. End six saw Don take advantage of a wide toucher from Ann to hold two, Bridget
went through only to see Fred draw shot, and a couple of shots later it became two more to
St Teresas.
End seven saw Ann draw just behind and although Don had a toucher it ended wide,
Fred went just behind and then short Bridget being too heavy with each of her attempts, Rex
drew to the jack and with no positive response from Ken, it was another two to St Teresas.
The final end began with both leads going long, but Fred drew shot , with Bridget going through
with both her attempts Rex drew a second to within a foot to win the tournament.
