Mom’s

                                     Snicker cake




                                            Ingredients



               1 German chocolate cake mix
               1/3 cup milk
               1 stick butter
               1- 8-oz pkg chocolate chips
               ¾ cup chopped nuts
               1 bag caramels



                                             Lagniappe



               Mix the cake mix according to directions on box.  Bake ½ the mix at 350 for
               20 minutes.  While the cake is baking, melt the caramels with one stick of
               butter and 1/3 cup milk.

               When cake is out of the oven, pour this mixture over the cake and sprinkle
               with the chocolate chips and nuts.  Spread the remaining half of the cake mix
               over the top and bake at 250 for 20 minutes, then 350 for 10 minutes.
