GRIFFITH HOUSE
Captains : Margaret Kerr, Peter Monks.
All Houses wish to express their appreciation for the hard and
varied work that Mr. Hazell has done in connection with all inter-house
activities. Particularly do we thank him for the hours spent in
preparing lanes for the long distance races and sprints.
Although Griffith House supporters have had to bow to Lilley to
whom we had to cede the swimming cup and to Wentworth, who won
the athletics cup. Congratulations to both Houses.
In the Inter-house Swimming we were unsuccessful, although we
had Minor Girls’ Champion in Pam Clarke, and Senior Boys’ Champion
in Graham Curtis.
Although we tried hard, we once again lost out in securing the
Athletics Cup for 1956. We had, however, some succesess recorded by
both boys and girls. The Junior Girls set a new tunnel ball record, and
for the boys, Alan Hill, Selwyn Loynes, Peter Monks and the (4 x 200)
