GIRLS ATHLETICS--
                (Q.S.S.S.S.A.)
AGAIN this year our girls gave their usual splendid performance and,
although we were a little disappointed at Being classed as a grade-one
school, we did quite well against much larger schools.
The standard of our runners was high, with Laraine Hillier gaining
second place in both the open 100 yards and 75 yards championship. Another
splendid performer, Judy Turnbull, ran second in the 75 yards after convinc
ingly winning her heat. Heather Sands did quite well to gain fourth place in
         the open 220 yards championship.
The under 16 relay team consisting of Elaine Phillips. Leah Gibbs,
Deirdrie Brown, and Judy Turnbull won its heat and came third in the final.
The other two relay teams entered the finals but were unplaced.
Both the over and under 15 ball games teams performed well, entering
all the finals with nothing lower than second place in the heats. The over
15's came second in the captain ball while the under 15’s gained second place
in leader ball, third in tunnel and zig-zag pass, and fourth in file gap pass.
Finally all competitors would like to thank Miss Nixon for her hard
work and time spent in training us for all our spirts meetings.
