With David Haxton and Mickey Taylor practising to be comedians
our life is never dull.
Finally we would like to thank all our teachers for the work that
they have tried to do for us during the year and we wish all other
candidates who are sitting for exams, the best of luck.
FORM 4C
Motto : "Things past redress, are now with us past care.”
Form Teacher : Mr. Christensen.
Form Captain ; Lile Toomey.
4C this year, consists of 30 hard-working ambitious beings, all of
whom have talents of their own. However, as this limited space will
not permit me to enlarge upon their individual talents, I must name a
few at random. Though the majority of our Form belongs to the
stronger sex, we are still and well represented by our three boys.
Bell, our only cadet, strives to keep his title as class comedian, while
Lee Hurley and Graham Wyer shine at Maths. At the annual cross
country race, 50 per cent, of our boys succeeded in finishing within the
first 60, while the other 50 per cent, finished not very far behind, (For
the sake of our Mathematicians, one boy could not run.)
Beverly Kydd outshines the rest in term examinations, while Ines
Gonano and Lynette Wegner are top in French and English. In the
field of music and artistry, we have four students playing instruments,
ranging from a fife to a ukulele. Also we have several girls taking
part in the school choir, and Joan Boardman who excels in ballet
dancing.
All our ability does not lie in the academic line as we had Robyn
Apps, Penny Baker, Lorraine Luff, Pat Kydd, Pam Burnett and Lile
Toomey representing the school in the G.P.S. and Q.S.S.S.S.A. Sports
Carnivals. These girls took part in either ball game teams, or relay
races. Lynette Stratton is an A grade tennis player, and many of the
girls played in school basketball teams. In the Q.S.S.S.S.A. Swimming
Carnivals, and we also had representatives in the McWhirter Cup Life
saving team. Penny Baker being the star swimmer. Notable also are
other girls who swam in the House Swimming at Manly Baths.
4C extends its thanks to all teachers and best of luck to everyone
in coming examinations.
FORM 4D
Through the din of Room 16 comes the small faint voice of Form
4D and in this short interlude we will endeavour to tell you something
of the activity and character of the nine members of our class.
First of all let us establish our reputation. The din that floats
across the threshold does not belong to us. It proceeds from our
colleagues in crime, the members of 4A2 and 4B, as they plan their
next attacks. If you want to do some secret spying, don’t come in
English lessons because then a deadly silence broods.
As a class we have our own special likes and dislikes. We like
physiology experiments, practical chemistry, Fridays, lunch hours and
interviewing Mr. Perry. We dislike chemistry problems, washing tea
towels, writing up experiments, and trying to make friends with King
Richard II.
Glenda Paterson is our top girl and excels in every subject. Her
brains are the envy of us all. so we all make use of them when our
