No data is saved on the telematics device.Abbott UK%u2019s intention for installing the telematics device is not to record Events Data about journeys made by someone other than the Driver (e.g. a Driver%u2019s spouse who uses the company vehicle). The telematics device will collect Summary Data about the non-Driver%u2019s journey to allow the Driver to identify whether that journey was business or personal, which is then used to calculate mileage. Drivers are required to inform all other drivers of their company vehicle that driver behaviour data is collected. If the other drivers do not wish for their journey data to be captured, they should not drive the company vehicle. 33.5 WHAT ARE THE PURPOSES FOR USING THE PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED BY THE TELEMATICS DEVICE?The purposes for recording and using the personal data collected by the telematics device are as follows:a) to comply with His Majesty%u2019s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) rules on the recording of private mileageb) to encourage Drivers to adopt safe and more efficient driving behaviours (see section 33.6 to see how this is achieved) so as to: c) improve employee, passenger, other drivers%u2019 and pedestrians%u2019 safety;d) better manage and maintain the company vehicle; e) reduce insurance premiums and other costs associated with unsafe driving behaviours; f) to improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions;g) it may also be used to deal with any claims brought against Abbott UK (or any of its employees) by employees and members of the public. It may also assist Abbott UK and/or the police or other appropriate authorities to investigate and/or prosecute any actual or potential criminal act against Abbott UK, a company vehicle, and any officer, employee or other persons who use, are provided with, or are otherwise transported in a vehicle fitted with a telematics device;h) locate the vehicle if it were ever stolen and in the event of an accident in order to send recovery services to the scene.33.6 HOW IS SAFE AND EFFICIENT DRIVING ACHIEVED USING THE DATA FROM THE TELEMATICS DEVICE?To encourage safe and more efficient driving behaviours, the telematics device records a number of categories of data. These data categories show as events in your driver profile, your score is made from your events per 1,000 miles, month to date. Your Score is your overall month to date score out of 10, Your score will be re calculated at the end of every journey, considering the number of miles travelled and the number of events within each trip.
