                       2.4 Hematuria
                          a) Types of hematuria

                              There are two kinds of hematuria

                              ✓ Microscopic hernaturia - Urine contains a very small amount of which is not
                              visible to the naked eye.
                              ✓ Gross hematuria - Urine is visibly discolored by blood. Appearing red Tea-
                              colored

                          b) Causes of hematuria
                              In some cases the cause of hematuria is never found. The list of known causes
                              is lengthy some more common causes include Injury to the abdomen, pelvis or
                              internal organs of the urinal tract.

                              ✓ Vigorous exercise (resolves with rest)
                              ✓ Urinary tract infection

                              ✓ Cancer of the prostate, kidney or bladder
                              ✓ Kidney disease

                              ✓ Kidney stones

                              ✓Certain congenital diseases (e.g. poll cystic kidney)
                              ✓Certain medication

                       2.5 Diagnose of kidney disease

                          There are various tests that can be helpful in testing for kidney disease. Some of
                          these are:

                          a) Urinalysis can show blood. Sugar. white blood cells and other findings that can
                              glee an idea of the cause of renal problem

                          b) Serum creatinine and BUN are the primary blood tests known as Renal
                              Function Tests (RUT).

                          c) Imaging tests are also very helpful, with an ultrasound of RUB (Kidney, Ureter
                              and Bladder) and a plain film x-ray giving an idea of size.


                       2.6 BUN and serum creatinine

                              The concentration in the blood of blood urea nitrogen known as urea, and
                              creatinine can be measured by routine lab test.

                              If the kidneys are suddenly unable to function, BUN and Cr increase daily.
                              This is known as actual renal failure.
