Q3. What are the hazards arising from
construction?
Ans. The hazards arising out of construction depends on
two factors, fire load and fire resistance. Fire load is
defined as the quantity of heat liberated per unit of
floor area, where a building and its contents are
completely burnt. The term Fire resistance gives the

On the basis of Fire load, there are three main

(a) Low fire load - Residential premises, offices, hotels
etc.
(b) Moderate fire load - Retail shops and factory
buildings and
(c) High fire load - Bulk storage godowns and
warehouses.
