Ans. The various types of roofing materials are :
a) Thatch - They are made of successive layers of

reeds or straw. They are the most hazardous type
of roof.

b) Timber shingles - Burning Shingles cause fire in
several cases by flying and igniting other similar
nearby roofs.

c) Tarred or Bituminous Felt - Tarred or
Bituminous felt laid on wood is easily ignited and
burns freely.

d) Glass roofs - Glass roofs are very fragile and offer
little resistance to fire.
