walls facing into open area. So its construction is
very important as better the wall, less the building
is exposed to external hazards.
The construction material used in making roofs are
also important in view of its tendency and resistance
to 'cave in'.
Q4. Discuss the main classes of occupancies on
the basis of fire load.
Ans. On the basis of Fire load, there are three main classes
of occupancies :
(a) Low fire load - Residential premises, offices, hotels
etc.
(b) Moderate fire load - Retail shops and factory
buildings and
(c) High fire load - Bulk storage godowns and
