The thinking style and its background
The thinking style describes how - let's stay with the example below
- a manager intellectually engages with his or her environment,
deals with information and makes decisions. For example, problem-
solving behavior and decision-making are measured. Each of the
four personality traits is precisely defined; the personality trait
"decision-making", for example, is defined as follows: "The extent to
which the manager proceeds in a considered and deliberate manner
when making decisions, rather than deciding quickly".
The poles are paraphrased as "spontaneous, quick" ("the
executive makes quick decisions or forms an opinion quickly; he
or she likes to make decisions without thinking about it for a long
time") when the poles are low, but as "spontaneous, quick" when
the poles are high.
"prudent, cautious" ("the leader tends to take things seriously and
consider decisions and actions carefully").
