Part II: Chapter 3 ‐ The Competence
In the case of the other personality traits, the poles "low and strong
expression" are described as follows:
• "Reflective thinking" from "little questioning" to
"profound"
• "Realistic thinking" from "imaginative, creative" to "sober,
pragmatic".
• "Fact orientation" from "intuitive" to "factual"
The work style and its importance
By work style is meant which work implementation a manager prefers
and how he implements his thinking and relationship style in the work
situation. This applies, for example, to the preferred working
environment, teamwork and resilience. These personality traits deal
with the way a person organizes him- or herself, how he or she fits
into an existing organization, and how he or she deals with task
diversity. Again, an example from the seven personality traits will
serve to clarify: The personality trait "work intensity" is defined as the
"extent to which the executive wants to get as many things done as
quickly as possible instead of working in a planned manner or at least
somewhat more calmly."
Again, there are the poles "low" and "strong" expression. One
extreme is paraphrased as "calm, unhurried": "The manager
prefers a slower or relaxed work pace." The other extreme, "fast,
busy," means, "She prefers a strict work schedule with a fast pace
that keeps her constantly busy."
Regarding the other personality dimensions, it is said regarding
the poles:
• "Self-reliance" from "team-oriented" to "independent, self-
reliant".
• "Work organization" from "unstructured" to "structured
