P. 207
Quantity Surveying: Guideline for Quantity Surveyor Chapter 6
5. Administration and Technical Staff
Contractors have enough staff, especially the technical staff of course have
better capabilities than the contractor selection
6. Machinery and Plant
Contractors who have their own machinery and logistics have the advantage
over contractors who rent machinery and logs from other parties.
7. Current Project Record
Contractors burdened with too many projects in progress may have difficulty
completing their projects within a specified time. This problem arises if the
contractor does not have a stable financial source, sufficient staff and no
experience.
To avoid any inconvenience to a project, only the contractor who has the
commitment to complete the project will be selected.
8. Tender perfection
Tenders with not complete may cause the contract to not be established. QS
must ensure that deficiencies in tenders such as unsigned tender forms,
compeletion of work not stated or etc are stated in the tender report.
9. Reasonable Date of Completion
QS also needs to take into account the comparisons of profits from different
completion periods. Furthermore, the effect of the completion period on the final
price due to contract price adjustments should also be taken into account.
