talking about Diane. I never played female games. I just thought Diane
was very pretty, smart and on the way up the corporate ladder. I always
admired Diane and adopted her as my little sister; Diane was born and
raised in DC. She had the street sense to deal with the ghetto mentality
and the intellect to wear out corporate America. She was twenty-four
years old and had lost both parents. I saw such strength in this young
woman and how she handled loss at such a young age. You will see
later just how ruthless Shannon became towards Diane.
Our excellent performance on the contracts continued to win
close to $5 million for Cox, which allowed me to have the power
within the company, I thought they understood if they fired me, they
would lose the contracts and clients.
I continued to fight upper management for Shannon and Jerome
to prevent them from firing both of them because of their
confrontational attitude with upper management. Jerome’s true
personality, with an explosive temper, was beginning to show. At the
same time, he could be somewhat charming. I continued to believe I
could teach and train him on the correct behavior for corporate
America. Jerome’s attention to details was lacking and there were
many times when I had to backtrack with our client on something he
had screwed up.
I was staffing the new contracts with high school and college kids
during the summers. I was determined to give our kids the opportunity
for exposure to the business world early on.
