I
know I was never really in love with Leroy. I think I was in love
with the idea of being married. I had been dating so many losers,

so when Leroy came along with a job, a house and a car, I thought
I had struck gold. He was so attentive and catered to my every need.

Now I know this was his hook, the "Mr. Nice Guy" syndrome. I
thought I had struck gold. I guess Leroy thought the same. There was

never any passion, not like I had with Tony. Tony was the love of my
life. I finally got Tony out of my system after seven years. Leroy was

the rebound from Tony. I know Leroy baited me well, he said all the
right things, he did all the right things; just the perfect everything. I

should have known something -- nothing is ever perfect.

I will start with how we met. I was on my way to see a government

client in a government building with Jerome. Leroy was the security
guard at the entrance, and I started flirting with him. Jerome had met

him earlier, from going to that building previously. He told Leroy I
