6. Notifying your supervisor before the beginning of the workday, of any medication they are taking, that may cause
drowsiness or other side effects that could lead to injury.
Material Safety data Sheets (MSDS) for hazardous materials are filed in the MSDS books in the appropriate departments
where any qualifying materials are used, and MSDS are available to all employees during regular business hours. If you
have any questions on MSDS, please ask your Manager or Regional Manager.
6.6 Workplace Violence
Hercules is very concerned for the safety and well being of its employees, clients and vendors. Violence or conduct that
creates the threat of violence to Hercules’ employees, clients or vendors will not be tolerated. Hercules will work swiftly
and closely with law enforcement in response to any threat of violence.
This policy is intended to govern behavior that may cause injury, or fear of injury, to a Hercules’ employee, client or
vendor. Examples of violent behavior include verbal abuse, physical assault, stalking, verbal threats, destruction of
property and the carrying and/or use of weapons. The possession of weapons, including handguns, whether licensed or
otherwise, is strictly prohibited on Hercules’ property or while conducting business on behalf of Hercules. Employees
who behave violently, or who threaten violence, may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Employees who wish to report their concerns about actual or potential workplace violence should contact their supervi-
sor and/or the Human Resources Department immediately. All information will remain confidential to the fullest extent
possible.
Managers and supervisors are responsible for working to maintain a workplace free from harm and violence. Hercules
reserves the right to take whatever action is deemed necessary and in the best interest of its employees, clients, vendors
and property when dealing with and/or confronting issues of violence.
6.7 Workplace Searches
Hercules will safeguard the property of our employees, tenants, and the Company. In doing so, we will participate in the
prevention of possessing, sale and use of illegal drugs on Company premises. In keeping with the spirit and intent of
Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy, the Company reserves the right to question employees and all other persons en-
tering and leaving our premises, and to inspect any packages, parcels, purses, handbags, briefcases, lunch boxes, or any
other possessions or articles carried to and from the workplace property.
In addition, the Company reserves the right to search any employees’ office, desk, files, or any other area or article on
our premises. It should be noted that all offices, desks, files, etc., are the property of Hercules.
