ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
Each and every employee plays a key role in the success
of the company. Tegra expects employees to be at
their assigned workstations at the designated starting
times and following breaks and lunch, and to work a full
schedule. Whenever an individual is late or absent, the rest
of the team must adjust to get the job done. Excessive
absenteeism makes it difficult to adjust without sacrificing
efficiency or service.
It is understandable that most people will occasionally
need to miss work due to unavoidable circumstances
such as illness, family needs, transportation problems,
emergencies, etc. Patterns of absenteeism or tardiness may
result in disciplinary action even if the employee has not yet
exhausted available paid time off. Absences due to illness
or injuries that qualify under the Family Medical Leave
Act (FMLA) will not be counted against an employee’s
attendance record. Medical documentation within the
guidelines of the FMLA may be required in these instances.
Employees who are absent for three consecutive days and
have not contacted their manager or Human Resources
generally will be assumed to have voluntarily terminated
employment as of the end of the third consecutive day
missed, except where excused by FMLA or other approved
leave. Employees who will be out of work for five or more
work days for any reason other than scheduled paid time off
should request a leave of absence.
Please Note: Some office and plant locations may also
utilize an attendance points system to track employee
attendance. Please contact your Human Resources
Representative for specific details.
