5. You or a staff member now get to play detective (this is the fun part!) You
will call your top 3 competitors as a prospective customer/client/patient.
Ask them if they can help you understand their business a bit better. Keep
it very conversational and matter of fact. Do not just read the 10-12 items
on your checklist; rather do it as a question and answer discussion. A good
call may take you up to 10 minutes to complete. Take notes!
6. Fill in the Competitive Intelligence Comparison Checklist immediately after
that call for that business. The information will never be fresher in your
mind.
7. Take a break if you wish, or call your two other top competitors right now,
repeating Steps 5 and 6 for each.
Congratulations!
