We worked hard at getting there and Google is rewards you if you do the right
things.
If you are a business working out of a physical location, you also want to pay
special attention to Google’s local listings. Google has listings for EVERY business
in the United States (at least that’s what they say). You must claim it and edit it to
make sure it’s accurate and includes your key business information. Google just
lists it.
Only 2% have been claimed by business owners and your competitors. Having a
strong listing in Google Places gives you an important unfair advantage!
Your Unfair Advantage #6:
Make Google Your Friend.
Give It What It Wants and Be Rewarded
With Top Placements
We started working with a chiropractor a few years back. He was frustrated by
the lack of leads he was getting from his website.
When we did a check on his online presence with Google, we found his Google
Places page had the wrong information. It showed his address, website URL and
phone number listed from when he moved his practice 4 years prior.
We showed him how to fix his information and his listing went to the top of
Google Places. It also moved his website to the top of page one in Google’s
organic (non-paid) listings.
Guess what? He started getting a steady flow of leads from that point further.
Total Cost of this tactic $0 and 1 hour of work. First impression and lead flow…
Priceless!
