part  of  an  energy-controlled  prudent  diet  and  an  increase  in  moderate
        exercise.

        The programme works on what is termed the ‘Weigh-Less Trilogy,’ which is
        comprised  of  the  Group  Experience,  the  Group  Leader  and  the  Weight
        Management  Programme.  So  thus  like  Weight  Watchers,  Weigh-Less  has
        meetings where people can connect over similar issues and form a support
        group,  particularly  as  regards  the  emotions  around  eating.  There  is  also  a
        certain level of accountability, in that weight is monitored. This means your
        efforts are not flying solo.

        The pros

        Their website is comprehensive, and offers much information for new and
        prospective members, together with the ability to connect.

        Weigh-Less introduced some products onto supermarket shelves that made
        it easy to shop for food that doesn’t have hidden calories. Often one of the
        problems is that people don’t realise just how much extra energy they are
        taking in with that club sandwich – it’s got lettuce and tomato after all, so
        surely it can’t be THAT fattening?

        There  is  also  a  focus  on  low-sodium  products  to  ensure  that  your  blood
        pressure does not spiral out of control.

        What’s also nice about this diet is that Weigh-Less understands the need to
        take  a  break  occasionally,  which  involves  cheating  a  little.  Perhaps  this  is
        linked to the psychology of why we as humans tend to overeat. They have
        break-out  meals  such  as  this  choc  mousse,  which  is  one  of  the  branded
        products we mentioned earlier.
