3 EVENT WELCOME
The event is your time to showcase your region and
ensure that members and partners feel welcomed. Your
introduction and wrap up at the end round up and
complete your event. At the event you are the face of the
DWN brand.
Be prepared. If you have a presenter, read their bio
beforehand. If you haven’t got a bio for a presenter at a
regional event, ask the presenter to provide you with one.
It shouldn’t be too long, and should include some key
facts about who they are and why they are speaking on
the chosen topic today.
It helps to make notes of what you need to say, who you
need to introduce/thank, and the names of Network
Partner representatives and sponsors present. Use your
event safety form to keep notes of specific site safety
information.
Speaking in front of an audience is something that
makes most of us a little nervous and this is only
improved by practice.
Be prepared. Speak slowly, remember to breathe
and remember to SMILE! Enjoy your 5 minutes in the
spotlight!
