functions in the agency. It shall cover employees who have demonstrated professional
qualities and leadership or managerial potential.
3.3.5.2. Coaching. It is a supervisor-supervisee relationship where the supervisor helps the
employee improve his/her work performance by providing technical assistance,
suggestions, advices related to the job being done.
3.3.5.3. Counseling. A process by which the supervisor helps an employee with job related
problems which the employee cannot cope alone and which affects job performance.
3.3.5.4. Exchange/off-site work exposures. It refers to exposing employees by allowing them to
work in other Campuses/Agencies/SUCs/Institutions within or outside the country to
gain firsthand experience and insights on new work strategies, systems, procedures
and attitudes which can be introduced and/or applied/adopted in IFSU. It shall cover
employees who have demonstrated professional qualities and leadership or managerial
potential. It shall not exceed two (2) years.
3.3.5.5. Review Courses for board/bar examinations. It refers to attendance to board/bar
review courses on official time for the whole duration of the review inclusive of the
actual examination dates but not to exceed six (6) months. However, this must only be
allowed after the applicant showed proof that the action is for the best interest of the
University.
3.3.5.6. Board/Bar/CSC and other examinations. This refers to attendance to board/bar/CSC
and other similar government examinations on official time during the actual dates of
examinations inclusive of travel time to and from the examination venue. This shall
cover employees whose positions need an eligibility to perform his/her functions or
who need the appropriate eligibility for promotion purposes. This privilege will only be
given upon request.
Professional Development Incentive Program (PDIP)
- This is an incentive program giving institutional support to faculty members on
thesis/dissertation writing stage. Support comes in the form of cash and leave-
with-pay benefits for a period of at most 1 year.
- Faculty members pursuing a higher degree at their own expense and whose thesis
or dissertation proposal has been approved by the Dean of the Graduate School
where they are enrolled, have two options: a leave of absence with pay for one
semester but to finish the degree within one year from the start of the grant, or
outright financial assistance worth P10,000 (P 15,000) for finishing a master’s
thesis and P 20,000 (P 25,000) for a dissertation; 50% to be released upon
submission of a duly approved thesis/dissertation proposal and the other 50% to
be released upon presentation of the approved bound copies of the
thesis/dissertation and transcript of records to the University.
Tuition Fee Waiver
- To encourage professional growth, the University extends 100% tuition fee waiver
to faculty members pursuing higher degrees at the University. This subsidy is valid
throughout the length of their study, but should not exceed five (5) years for
those pursuing a master’s degree and seven (7) years for those pursuing a
doctorate degree.
