Chapter 3
The recurring dream floods my mind and my consciousness enters the dream
as if the events were happening in the present.
Lucas is standing on a pile of rubble shouting orders at us. The wind is
catching his long dark hair and pieces have fallen out of his bun but he isn’t
bothered and continues explaining our plan.
I take in every detail slowing the events of the dream down to a crawl. His
black and gold uniform is already dirty from the venture over here but it suits him
more than a clean outfit. His gestures are strong and his face is pained, but his
confidence over shines the majority of his fears.
Everything is exactly the same again.
Without my command I turn to Elaine trying to get her attention but she
ignores me just like she did that day. Her favourite leather vest has a new tear on
the shoulder and I still can’t believe she won’t get rid of it.
“Listen to your boyfriend Kimmie” Elaine jokes.
“He is not my boyfriend!” I glare back at Elaine.
“Why are you glaring at me?” Elaine wonders giving me a look of
disgust. Her blonde hair sways in the wind and her amber eyes are already starting
to turn more red.
