allowing people to die for his research, and when we weren’t good enough, he
would toss us aside and restart without an inch of compassion, leaving us in a
cryogenic cell until we died. He’s just a disgusting pig that ruined my life.
The dream continues with us running towards the lab. My force field is
holding strong and we’re only a few more meters away from the door. Gunshots
and repulsion cannon sounds are dulled by the absorption of my shield. 85%...80%,
every hit brings the integrity down a bit but I can hold it. I ignore the information
displayed across my vision and the noises of the attacks and focus on running. My
anxiety increases as the door appears into existence.
We reach the door and almost on cue my shield breaks. Liam immediately
begins working on the door. We break into our defensive formation and try to give
Liam as much time as possible.
Whenever my shield breaks the kinetic energy backfires onto me, the bigger
the shield the worse it is. I can black out if I’m not careful and with this mission
nothing can go wrong.
Elaine charges forward wielding her Katana style sword in one hand a fist of
fire in the other. She places the blade of her sword into her other hand and ignites
the blade with orange flames. Smiling she attacks the guards melting their guns.
“Alex help Elaine.” Lucas orders while he fires his gun.
“On it!” Alex replies jumping out from the cover with their blue hair flying
crazily in the wind.
“How’s the door coming Liam?” I shout while swinging my bo staff still
weak from my shield breaking.
“It’s more complex than I thought, as much as you hate him, Kim, he is
talented.” Liam answers while fiddling with the control panels.
