Grace Stations
Some of the inheritances that grace in God’s word grants
the believer access include holiness, which makes us to have
the nature of God and enables us to see Him eventually. “As
obedient children,” Peter says, to explain the expected
conduct of the believer, “not conforming yourselves to the
former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is
holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written,
“Be holy, for I am holy” (I Peter 1:14-16). Paul adds in
Hebrews 12:14, “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness,
without which no one will see the Lord.”
Our inheritance among the sanctified also includes divine
wisdom, which sets us apart from those who do not operate
with the wisdom of God. James 3:13-17 says,
“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let
him show by good conduct that his works are done
in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter
envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast
and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not
descend from above, but is earthly, sensual,
demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist,
confusion and every evil thing are there. But the
wisdom that is from above is first pure, then
peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy
and good fruits, without partiality and without
hypocrisy.”
