idol of God, created by God Himself. Unfortunately, many people who yield to various
vices such as alcohol, drugs, opium, tobacco, etc. damage their bodies severely.
Resorting to vices, under the impression that one can easily escape from miseries and
sufferings in life is the greatest blunder. On the contrary, drowning oneself in the ocean
of vices like alcohol, drugs, tobacco, etc, only attract all sorts of difficulties calamities,
chaos and diseases which push addicts and their families towards the valley of disaster
and downfall. In fact, 'to be an addict of vices', is the biggest sin and crime, which
amounts to destroying the human body and also shows defiance to God as well as
disrespect to Him. Consequently these addicted persons earn God's displeasure and
wrath according to the universal laws of nature and eventually ruin themselves by
inviting difficulties, calamities, miseries and diseases in their lives. Similarly, under the
influence of envy, conceit, malice and hatred, people become jealous of others, quarrel
and clash with others and even resort to litigation. All these people thus commit sins of
severe type, by resorting to such undesirable ways of living and, in fact, become
destroyers of the living idols of God in the form of human beings. Similarly we find in
human society crooked, wicked, mean minded and malicious persons, who are in fact a
big curse to entire mankind. For example, some mean people deliberately promote black
market by creating artificial scarcity of essential commodities; Buas, Babas, Bhagats,
Fakirs, Godmen and priests deceive and exploit innocent, pious devotees; fanatical
religious scholars and selfish political leaders misguide people taking advantage of their
ignorance and blind faith; some evil persons adulterate life-saving medicines to earn
fabulous wealth; some beasts in human form undermine the nations' economy by
resorting to smuggling, corruption and black deeds and creating black money. All these
persons are not only great sinners, but in fact are demons and satans, who are
responsible for creating miseries, distress and diseases in the lives of the people. In this
context, there is an important principle of JEEVANVIDYA which states,
"Cursed money and wealth earned by foul, evil and corrupt means, not only cause
difficulties, miseries, calamities and diseases for persons who earn them, but they also
bring about distress, sorrow and ruin to their wives and children as also to some of their
future generation, according to the laws of nature as well as the law of inheritance''.
All these satans and demons are not only great sinners, but they are destroyers of
the living idols of God in the form of human beings. As such, they prove themselves to
be criminal offenders in the court of God and are punished according to the universal
laws of nature. JEEVANVIDYA categorically states-
