ABSTRACT
2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin or TCDD is a chemical compound resulting from the burning effect that
is very dangerous for humans, plants, or animals which can cause skin damage, immunotoxic, hepatotoxic,
carcinogenic, teratogenic, diseases on reproduction, disturbing on growth processes, neurobehavioral, and specific
endocrine effects. In addition, this compound can also disturb embryo development and increase embryo mortality.
This study aims to determine the teratogenic of TCDD administration on eye diameters, head diameter, head circle,
body length., body-wide, bodyweight of Isa brown embryos. In this study, there were two treatment groups: a
standard group without the addition of TCDD, and a treatment group with the addition of TCDD of 5 ng/egg
dissolved in 5 µL corn oil. The treatments were given for seven days. The unpaired sample T-test analyzed the
measurement data. The analysis showed that the teratogenic effect of TCDD had a significant impact on eye
diameters, head diameter, head circle, body length., body-wide, bodyweight of chicken embryos.
