The NH Marathon

October 1st, 2022, marked the 29th year of the New Hamp- shire Marathon at Newfound Lake! Beginning in 1993, the New Hampshire Marathon has been bringing people together for a rewarding day that leaves everyone smiling. The course goes around Newfound Lake in the peak of Autumn, and there’s nothing better than being im- mersed in the foliage of New England. Surrounded by beauti- ful fall scenery, the New Hamp- shire Marathon offers a full and half marathon, a 10k, and a kid’s race.
I had the opportunity to speak to Dan MacLean, the Assistant Director at the Tapply-Thomp- son Community Center, and he had nothing but wonderful things to say about the gratify- ing day. “The atmosphere of the

Hazel’s Light Will Shine Once Again on

Halloween in Central Square
Last year the Roy family, Peter (PJ), Charlene, and their young daughter Elodie, asked the community to take part in a special Halloween trib- ute to their oldest daughter Hazel, age four, who passed away after a tragic accident on Aug. 17 and the response was amazing. Families from several towns stopped by the square on Halloween to drop off a carved pumpkin, and as dozens and dozens of them filled bleachers and lined the sidewalks, many paused to take photos and re- flect on young lives lost far too soon.
Hazel loved Halloween very much, thus the special tribute that night, but she also loved Elsa from the movie “Frozen” as well as bunny rabbits, and many of the pumpkins were carved with that in mind.
