7.8.2 Repairing Power Off for AMD M/B
This problem for AMD series M/B is usually caused by power off without following
power sequence. The defect tracking must verify the power sequence step by step to
identify which voltage or signal is not normal.
7.8.3 Repairing Power Off for Intel M/B
The steps of shut down for Intel series M/B:
01. SB sends interrupt signal SMI to CPU.
02. CPU and SB will negotiate by CPUSLP, STPCLK and INIT for the power state
transfer.
03. SB communicates with I/O by SLP_S3 and PWRBTSW.
04. I/O release –PSON.
