Sometimes we need a little mid-
morning boost. These healthy
snacks will pick you right up!
Homemade
Hummus
Hummus is a traditional Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dip or spread made from
chickpeas, tahini, lemon and spices. It is easily bought in stores, however making it at home
can save you money and will taste so much better! Making hummus is also quite simple. High
in fiber, it is wonderful for the digestive system.
Ingredients: Add the olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, and a
1/2 teaspoon of salt to the mixture. Process for
1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, drained 30 seconds, scrape the sides and bottom of the
1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lemon juice (1 large lemon) bowl then process until very well blended. Add
