                                    TO JUDITH'S TRIUMPH

                                    From bed down to the floor all bloody hangs
                                    the right shoulder of the merciless tyrant,
                                    who storming futilely Bethulia's wall,
                                    hurled bolts against himself towards heaven's hold.
                              Vertido Baco reveals the cruel, inhuman spectacle
                                    In agony tangled, the red veil
                                    of the pavilion, on the lefthand side,

                                    of his dreadful trunk, now icy cold.
                                    Spilled Bacchus stains his sturdy coat of mail,
                                    the glasses and the table overturned;
                                    the guards sleep, who stand him in such poor stead;
                                    and there, atop the jagged city wall
                                    of Israel's tribe, the Hebrew woman chaste
                                    appears resplendent, brandishing his head.

                        Es una imagen poética de como el " Vino" puede ser un aliado poderoso para hacer Justicia, dando
                        muerte a la Tiranía a manos de los Oprimidos.
                        Tema muy recurrente en los cuadros Bíblicos-Religiosos de los pintores del Barroco, como
                        Caravaggio, Tintoretto, Artemisa Gentillichi y posteriormente Goya.

                                                                Jaime de Jaraiz
                                                                Pintor y Académico de  Extremadura
                                                                Painter and Academic of Extremadura

                        It is a poetic image of how "Wine" could be a powerful ally to do Justice, killing (the) Tyranny at
                        the hands of the Oppressed.
                        It is a recurrent topic in the biblical and religious paintings of the Baroque artists such as
                        Caravaggio, Tintoretto, Artemisa Gentillichi and later Goya.
