2.2.5 Health and Safety Advisor (External)
The company director and supervisors are competent in managing the day to day safety aspects
of the business. An external health and safety advisor is appointed for offering advice on matters
beyond the competence of the management team and keeping the team up to date with changes
in legislation and best practice.
The External Health and Safety Advisor is responsible and accountable for:
a) providing support to the business to enable it fulfil its’ responsibilities
b) acting as a focus and source of expertise to facilitate effective management and continuous
improvement of occupational health and safety
c) conducting occasional workplace inspections to establish legal compliance
d) supporting the business in investigation and reporting of accidents and incidents including
completing RIDDOR reports
e) (when requested) support the business in dealing with employee injury compensation claims
