Inspections and Audits
The operations managers will establish a plan for workplace inspection including mandatory
inspections e.g. PAT testing.
Site supervisor will ensure that all work equipment is suitably inspected before use.
All employees are required to inspect work equipment prior to use and to report any damaged
items.
The health and safety advisor will carry out occasional additional inspection and audits to
support the schedule
Work Equipment
The managing director and operations managers are responsible for ensuring that all
equipment purchased/hired meets appropriate specifications and is suitable for the task.
Site supervisor will ensure that all work equipment is used as per manufacturers’ instructions
and that any defective items are removed from use.
All employees are required to use equipment as instructed and to report any damaged items.
The site supervisors are responsible for ensuring that all damaged equipment is either repaired
to a suitable and safe standard or disposed of securely.
Hazardous Substances
The managing director and operations managers are responsible for ensuring that all only
approved materials are ordered and that any changes to materials are risk assessed prior to
introduction.
Site supervisor will ensure that only approved hazardous substances are used on client sites
and that all staff are fully briefed on the essentials safety precautions required for safe and
healthy use and storage.
All employees are required to store and use hazardous substances as instructed and to dispose
of empty containers as required by the risk assessment.
Contact with Authorities e.g., HSE
Any members of the business management team may need to interface with authorities e.g.
HSE
The health and safety advisor will support all interaction with the HSE as appropriate including
attending meetings, submitting RIDDOR reports
