ABSTRACT Frog Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is an online learning platform introduced by the
Ministry of Education to encourage the integration of technology in Malaysian schools. This study
examines an English teacher’s and a class of Form 2 students’ perceptions and readiness in using Frog
VLE during their English Lessons. A basic training in using Frog VLE and Kahoot! was given to an
English teacher and 2 students at the start of the study. The aim was to equip the teacher with basic
skills and knowledge using Frog VLE, particularly building sites, and creating an opportunity for
students to explore and create their own sites and Kahoot! via Frog VLE. This study also highlights
the students’ readiness to not only use Frog VLE but also to coach their peers in using it after the
basic training given by the researcher. The findings of this study is hoped to suggest strategies for
teachers when integrating technology in their classroom using Frog VLE by allowing students to be
independent explorers, learners and mentors for their peers.
