However, according to Imam Ahmad, the answer is yes; a person who is fasting and started traveling after fajr, can break the fast while traveling during the day even if there is no hardship.Is it permissible for frequent travelers to break their fast?If travel does not cause him hardship, it is better to observe the ritual fast of the blessed days of Ramadan. If the traveler decides to break the fast, it is permissible to do so and the traveler needs to make up for the missed days of fast.Is a person obligated to break their fast if they go on travel?According to the majority of scholars, the answer is no.According to Imam Ahmad, it is recommended to break the fast.Our class adopts the majority opinion that it is more virtuous to keep the fast of Ramadan even if we are on travel, unless there is a hardship involved. The evidence is in the following hadith narrated by Anas ibn Maalik, \Prophet (pbuh), in Ramadan, and those who were fasting did not find fault with those who were not, and those who were not fasting did not find fault with those who were.\What about the people who never break their Ramadan fasts despite having hardships? Would their fasts be invalidated?The majority of the scholars agree that it is disliked (makrooh) to fast in that case.
