5-115 Do not lay a portable electric saw, chain saw, air tool, grinder or
                                       other power tools down while it is running.

                                GRINDING WHEELS (5-200)

                                5-200   Keep the tool rest installed and in proper adjustment at all times;
                                       never allow more than 1/8 inch space between the tool rest and
                                       the wheel. If applicable, the tongue guard will be kept at a
                                       minimum of 1/4 inch space from the wheel.

                                5-201 Wheel guard must cover the spindle, nut and flange and 75% of
                                       the wheel.

                                5-202 Do not adjust the tool rest while the machine is in motion.

                                5-203 Wear safety glasses and face shield when using a portable or
                                       bench grinder, safety glasses alone are not acceptable.

                                5-204 Only use a grinder when you can clearly see that others will not
                                       be in danger of injury, and flying sparks will not contact
                                       combustible/flammable materials.

                                5-205 Inspect grinding wheel for cracks and other hazards before use
                                       and remove badly worn, undersized or out-of-balance wheels
                                       from service.

                                5-206   Use a pair of pliers or a tool holder when grinding small objects;
                                       never hold them with your fingers.

                                5-207 Avoid striking the grinding wheel a side blow when grinding any
                                       object.

                                5-208 Do not use the side of a grinding wheel as a grinding surface.

                                5-209 Match grinding wheel or disc rpm recommendations to bench or
                                       portable grinders.

                                5-210 Before mounting a wheel, "ring test" it by tapping it gently with a
                                       non-metallic item such as a wooden screwdriver handle. A
                                       sound wheel will give a clear metallic tone

                                5-211 Do not grind soft metals or plastics.

                                HAND TOOLS  (5-300)

                                       them until they can be repaired.

                                5-301 Maintain all tools in good condition, use the right tool for the job,
                                        and use it properly.

                                5-302 Store tools in their proper place when not in use.
