8-412 Do not dump directly over a highwall. When dumping on stockpiles or
near highwalls, always maintain at least one truck length away from
the edge. Use a dozer or loader to push material and always maintain
                                      a berm when pushing material.

8-413 Haulage equipment operators must stay alert at all times and be
prepared to move their vehicle when directed by the loader operator.

                              FRONT END LOADERS (8-500)

8-500 Travel with buckets lowered on front-end loaders.

8-501 Use caution on inclines; slower speeds and lowered buckets are
                                      required.

8-502 Maintain vision to the rear when backing up.

8-503 Before dismounting the loader, lower the bucket to the ground. DO
NOT leave the bucket raised, loaded or empty. Always set the
                                      emergency and/or parking brake.

8-504 Do not permit anyone to stand or work between loader and a highwall
                                      face.

8-505 Do not operate your loader parallel to the highwall unless it is a
distance of at least 25% of the height of the highwall or if no hazards
                                      exist.

8-506 Use the proper cribbing or stands to block the bucket for maintenance
purposes. Do not use boulders, rely on hydraulics or use overhead
                                      hoist/cranes.

8-507 Do not permit anyone to work or pass under the buckets or booms
while the loader is in operation.

8-508 Dippers, buckets, loading booms, or heavy suspended loads shall not
be swung over the cabs of haulage vehicles until drivers are out of the
cabs and in a safe location, unless the trucks are designed specifically
to protect the drivers from falling material. (FOPS - - Falling Object
Protection Structure) (ROPS – Roll-Over Protection Structure).

8-509 Any persons wanting to board the loader shall notify the operator
before getting on or off the equipment.

8-510 Visually inspect all fluid levels before starting the loader/mobile
                                      equipment.

8-511 Notify the loader operator before driving past him/her in a confined
                                      area.

8-512 The loader operator will not spot haul trucks parallel to the highwall
unless it is a distance of at least 25% of the height of the highwall.
