                     3. Data Collection, Analysis, and Trustworthiness
In this study, data were collected through demographic profile and
semi-structured interview guided by an interview protocol. To catch and
examine the key word in the interview, I did not really focus on my interview

list questions, but I was trying to ask informants specifically to get in-depth
understanding from the information they gave. Basically, I had conducted
interview with 5 informants but only 4 informants that I considered able to
give beneficial information about my research. Each interview lasted between
30 and 45 minutes. One of participant involved in this study was interview
three times because I wanted to clarify his statement clearly after analyzing
the first interview transcript. Whereas, the language used during the interview
                  was Indonesian language.
For the analysis of the data, the interview data were transcribed and
analyzed line by line to generate and develop codes, themes, or categories
from all participants. The next step, I translated the data into English. In this
article, I just presented the English version.
To ensure the credibility of the trustworthiness (Lincoln &Guba 1985, p. 300
as cited in Mukminin et al., 2015) of my study, I returned interview data to my
informants. I sent transcribed interviews to their email, then asking them to
provide feedback whether the data of interview conversations were accurate
                  or not.

                  C. FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION
In this study there were five themes emerged with regard to authors’
reading strategies in writing a research article from four faculty members of
different universities in Indonesia. The themes were (1) correlating prior and
current knowledge, (2) analyzing relevant literatures, (3) synthesizing relevant
literatures, (4) scanning the point of relevant literatures, and (5) coding the
                  points of literatures.

                  Correlating Prior and Current Knowledge
Correlating prior and current knowledge is a challenging part in
academic reading. What the reader had understood from literatures should
be correlated with reader views, so it can emerge new ideas which discuss
more with words on academic paper. The following was voice from

participant about correlating prior and current knowledge. They reported,

It is very important to correlating prior and current knowledge (M1)
