       and manuals “seldom”, methods in guidance services “often” and guidance integration “always”.
       Further, as to funding it is “moderately adequate” and provision of support service “moderately
       adequate”,  the  problems  encountered  are  “moderately  serious”  and  the  coping  mechanisms
       mentioned are used “occasionally”.
              The following conclusions were based from the findings: 1) The respondents are female
       dominated, belong to middle age, married, educationally qualified, had a number of years in
       guidance  work  and  attended  relevant  trainings  in  all  levels;  2)  The  guidance  teachers  have
       impressive ratings in the attainment of philosophies and objectives.; 3) the teachers experienced
       minor problems and used coping mechanisms when they feel comfortable to use it.
              In the light of the findings and conclusions drawn, the following recommendations are
       hereby presented: 1) The guidance teachers concerned are encouraged to pursue their Masteral
       and Doctoral Degrees to upgrade the competencies and skills; 2) The philosophy and objectives
       of  the  Guidance  Program  should  be  sustained;  3)  The  facilities  and  instructional  materials
       and curriculum related inputs should be improved by the Division Office to truly support the
       Guidance Program; 4) To lessen the “moderately serious” problems affecting the implementation
       of the said program, a strong collaboration with the DepEd authorities and officials should be
       strengthened to attain fully the goals of the Guidance Program; 5) There should be regular
       monitoring and evaluation of the program to know their problems, thereby making solutions
       to reduce or eliminate problems; 6) This study maybe replicated in other diversions to validate
       the results; 7) Other studies should be conducted to look into other aspects not included in this
       study of the Guidance Program



       INSTRUCTIONAL SKILLS IN TEACHING READING IN THE MOTHER TONGUE

              This study determined the level of Instructional Skills in Teaching Reading in the Mother
       Tongue of Public Elementary School Teachers of Villasis Districts 1 and 11, Pangasinan Division
       11 during the SY 2013-2014.
              Specifically, this study sought to determine the following: 1) profile of the elementary
       teachers in the public schools in terms of their age, civil status, highest educational attainment,
       length of service, dialects spoken at home and relevant trainings; 2) level of instructional skills
       in  teaching  Reading  in  the  Mother  Tongue  of  elementary  teachers  in  the  public  school;  3)
       significant difference in the levels of instructional skills in teaching Reading in the Mother Tongue
       of elementary teachers in the public schools according to age, civil status, highest educational
       attainment,  length  of  service,  dialects  spoken  at  home  and  relevant  trainings; 4)  significant
       relationship between the levels of instructional skills in teaching reading in the mother tongue
       of teachers and profile variables.
