Further, the descriptive method was used in this study. The profile of the respondents
was determined using the frequency counts and percentage computation. The level of
instructional skills in teaching Reading in mother tongue were determined using the Average
Weighted Mean, on the other hand, the difference between the teachers, profile and their level
of instructional skills in Reading, the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) wax used. On the relationship
between the teachers’ profile and their instructional skills in teaching reading in the mother
tongue, the Coded Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient was used however; the null
hypothesis was tested at .05 level of significance between the levels of instructional skills in
Reading and their profile variables.
The findings indicate that most of the respondents belong to the age bracket of 35
and above, married, with the bracket of 10-29 years of teaching experience, have MA units and
majority used Iloko dialect at home and attended relevant trainings. The level of instructional
skills in relation to Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing have overall weighted mean of 3.84
(skilled). There is no significant relationships be3tween the level of instructional skills in Reading
in Mother Tongue and the profile variables.
Based on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn. The respondents vary in
their profile at a certain instances, the variations are in extreme cases and are distinctly married,
performing impressively in terms of instructional skills in Reading in Mother Tongue, respondents
do not vary in their relationships with Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing in certain times
however, there are times and cases which are comparable.
Recommendations are hereby presented based on the findings and conclusions. A
continuous well-designed In-Service Training Program for Instructional Skills Development
should be implemented, encourage to pursue Graduate courses , other studies be conducted to
look into other aspects of instructional skills in teaching Reading in Mother Tongue using more
variables and a wider scope.
SEPARATION ANXIETY OF KINDERGARTEN PUPILS: BASIS FOR
DEVELOPMENT OF PUPIL ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM

This study determined the level of awareness of kindergarten teachers on the causes of
separation anxiety among kindergarten pupils which will eventually lead to the crafting of pupils
adjustment program in the public elementary schools of Urdaneta City Division, SY 2013-2014.
Specifically, it sought to determine the profile of the kindergarten teachers in terms of age, sex,
civil status, highest educational attainment, number of years teaching in the kindergarten and
number of relevant trainings.
