recommendations are hereby presented: 1) the guidance teachers should take their own initiatives
to pursue the highest educational degree which is the doctoral degree and undergo professional
upgrading through attendance to higher level of in-service trainings and seminar-workshop;
2) the guidance teachers should always aspire and aim high for excellent implementation
of basic guidance teachers; 3) the guidance teachers should maintain impressive extent of
implementation of basic guidance practices at all time even though their educational qualification
and relevant trainings attended vary; 4) to better determine the extent of implementation of
basic guidance practices of the guidance teachers more appropriate and relevant variables
should be explored; 5) further research may be conducted to determine the implementation of
basic guidance practices from another perspectives.
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT PRACTICES OF NEWLY APPOINTED
SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS

This study determined the level of facilities management practices of newly appointed
school administrators of public elementary schools of the 5th congressional district of Pangasinan
SY 2013-2014. Specifically, it sought to determine the profile of newly appointed school
administrators in terms of sex, age, civil status, highest educational attainment, number of
teachers supervised and relevant trainings attended.
Further, it looked into the levels of facilities management practices by the newly
appointed school administrators of public elementary schools along school building, equipment,
and furniture, textbook, and instructional materials, and classroom structuring. It also focused
on the significant differences in the levels of facilities management practices of newly appointed
school administrators of the public school across the profile variables.
The descriptive method of research was employed and the questionnaire-checklist was
used in gathering data. The frequency counts, percentages, weighted average point and ANOVA
were the statistical tools used in the analysis of data.
The findings indicate that majority of the newly appointed school administrators belong
to age bracket of 36-40 years old. Majority of them are females and married. Most of them have
masters’ degree, majority supervised 10 and less teachers, have attended trainings at different
levels. There is no significant difference on the levels of facilities management practices of
newly appointed school administrators across the profile variables, the school administrators
encountered problems which are ‘serious” in the facilities management practices of the newly
appointed school administrators.
In the light of the findings, the following conclusions are made: 1) the newly appointed
school administrators widely vary in their profiles and are distinctively female dominated
group or school administrators are performing remarkably more than well-enough in facilities
management practices, but if excellence is yet possible then their present performance is a
