lecture, observation, discussion s and problem-solving method were rated “always”. There are
no significant differences on the extent of use of teaching strategies of public elementary school
teachers and the profile variables. There are no significant relationships between the extent of
use of teaching strategies of public elementary school teachers and the profile variables namely;
age, sex, civil status, and highest educational attainment.
Based on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn. The public elementary
school teachers of Manaoag District are middle age, largely dominated by females, married,
young in the teaching profession, obtained Master of Arts units and have attended relevant
trainings. The teacher-respondents of Manaoag District got a rating of “always” in their extent of
use of teaching strategies. The teachers do not vary in their relationships with the demonstration
method, role playing method, lecture methods, observation method, discussion method and
problem-solving method in terms of age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment and
relevant tainings.
Based on the findings and conclusion drawn the following recommend\dations are
hereby presented: A continuous well-designed formulated and implemented In-service Training
Program for Teaching Strategies in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao should be implemented to
sustain the acceptable teaching strategies of teachers. The teachers of Manaoag District who
have only Master of Arts units are encouraged to find iniatitve to pursue or finish their Doctoral
degree in reputable institutions. The teachers should always aspire for excellent use of teaching
strategies in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao by being innovative. Adaptive and transformative.
Other studies should be conducted in other perspective and aspects of teaching strategies of
teachers using more relevant variables and in a wider scope.
LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES OF ELEMENTARY/SECONDARY SCHOOLS
PRINCIPALS

The main objective of this paper is to determine the level of leadership competence of
public elementary and/or secondary principals of the Division of Urdaneta City for the second
semester of school year 2013-2014. Sets of survey questionnaires for principals and their
respective key teachers are used to gather information in order to come up with the results
of the study. SPSS programs are used in the computation of averages, significance levels for
correlations and differences.
Specifically, this study utilized the profile of respondents in terms of age, sex, civil
status, position, length of service as principal, highest educational attainment, eligibility, number
of teachers supervised and level of relevant trainings attended in order to correlate for the
responses gathered on the performance domains of leadership competence namely: a) school
leadership; b) instructional leadership; c) student-centered learning climate; d) human
resource management and professional development; e) parental involvement and community
