       nutrition of school population.
              In  the  light  of  the  findings,  the  following, conclusions  were  drawn:  (1)  Health  and
       nutrition services were provided in the schools of San Manuel District by the health and nutrition
       service providers of Pangasinan Division II. (2) The objectives of health and nutrition services
       of the DepED were attained by the health and nutrition service providers of Pangasinan Division
       II. (3) The delivery of health and nutrition services was satisfactory and (4) the perceptions of
       teachers and parents on the extent to which health and nutrition services are delivered do not
       vary.
              Based  on  the  findings  and  conclusions  derived  from  the  study,  the  following
       recommendations are deemed essential and suitable: (1) the school health and nutrition service
       providers should improve their satisfactory performance in the delivery of health and nutrition
       services in the school (2) the school health and service providers should strengthen their linkages
       to different stakeholders in order to get additional support for the health and nutrition program
       of the school (3) the attainment of the objectives of the health and nutrition services of the
       DepED should be sustained (4) other studies should be conducted to look into the other aspects
       of the delivery of health and nutrition services using more variables and in a wider scope.


             AWARENESS AND PRACTICES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF ACUTE
              GASTROENTERITIS: BASIS FOR AN INTERVENTION PROGRAM

              The study aimed to determine the competencies of the midwives in the management
       of the third stage of labour in selected municipalities in Tarlac.  Specifically, it sought to answer
       the  following  questions:  (1)  the  midwife-respondents’  profile  in  terms  of  age,  civil  status,
       highest educational attainment, monthly income, length of service, and trainings and seminars
       attended; (2) competencies of the Midwives in the management of the third stage of labour
       along knowledge, skills, and attitude; (3) significant relationship between the competencies of
       the midwives in the management of the third stage of labor across their selected profile variables;
       (4) significant difference between the competencies of the midwives in the management of the
       third stage of labor across their selected profile variables; and, (5) what enhancement program
       can be proposed to improve the implementation of the active management of the third stage of
       labour in selected municipalities in Tarlac.
              Descriptive  research  design  was  utilized,  frequency  and  percentage  were  used
       to  determine  the  profile  of  the  respondents,  weighted  mean  were  used  to  determine  the
       competencies of the midwives in the management of the third stage of labor along knowledge,
       skills,  and  attitude.    For  problem  number  3,  the  Pearson-r  formula  was  used  and  ANOVA
       was  utilized  on  the  significant  difference  between  the  competencies  of  the  midwives  in  the
       management of the third stage of labor along their selected profile variables.
