             that their knowledge and skills will not go to waste and they will be able to enhance their clinical
             abilities, it is also recommended to organize a new facility which caters elderly patient care
             because there is no existing home care for old aged available in Pangasinan, thus this will create
             more job opportunities for other nurses.


                    HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATORS INVOLVEMENT IN COMMUNITY
                                           DEVELOPMENT

                    This study sought to determine the extent of Hospital Administrators Involvement of the
             five (5) Hospitals in Eastern Pangasinan in Community Development. It looked into the profile of
             the respondents in terms of age; sex; civil status; highest educational attainment; monthly family
             income; number of years in service; position; type of hospital; and level of hospital. Problem
             Number 2 dealt on the perception of the respondents in the extent of hospitals administrator’s
             involvement in community development along with promotion of health; prevention of illness;
             rehabilitation; and restoration of health were determined. Moreover, the problems encountered in
             the involvement of the hospital administrators in Community Development were also determined.
                    The findings of the study revealed that: (1) Majority of the respondents is within 23-27
             years old, female, single, majority are Bachelors Degree holder, receive P25, 001 and above.
             As to number of years in service, rendered between 4-6 years services, mostly are department
             heads that work in private hospitals, and categorized as secondary hospital, respondents showed
             high  involvement  in  community  development  along  with  promotion  of  health  manifested,  in
             terms of prevention of illness, rehabilitation, and restoration of health, the respondents showed
             moderate involvement. (3) Problems encountered in the involvement of hospital administrators
             in community development were described as moderately serious.
                    The following are the conclusions made based on the findings of the study. (1) A good
             number of hospital administrators are middle adult, female, single, and graduate of Bachelor of
             Science in Nursing (Registered Nurses). They receive an average compensation and have served
             as nurses for about half a decade. They work in private hospitals categorized as secondary
             hospitals. (2) Hospital administrators’ extent of involvement in community development along
             with promotion of health, prevention of illness, rehabilitation, and restoration of health varies.
             More activities are geared towards promotion of health. (3) Hospital administrators’ encountered
             problems in implementing programs in community development especially in terms of budget
             allocation and cooperation for the community.
                    The  following  recommendation  were  offered;  (1)  Program  or  seminar  for  stress
             management,  family  planning  programs,  and  livelihood  programs,  must  be  promoted  on
             the  community.  (2)  On  Prevention  of  Illness,  Hospitals  of  Eastern  Pangasinan  must  conduct
             regular medical missions with laboratory works or the local government must establish a mobile
             diagnostic clinic in order to increase the engagement of health professionals on hypertension,
