                                        MILDRED D. GALZOTE

This study determined the extent of practices on multi-media based-education of
teachers in the Districts of Villasis I and II SY 2014-2015.

sex, civil status, highest educational attainment, length of service and relevant trainings
attended; Problem No. 2 dealt with the extent of practices along the following multi-media
based-education: innovative teaching approaches, use of instructional materials, management
of educational facilities and evaluation of learning outcomes; Problem No. 3 looked into the
problems encountered in the practice of multi-media based-education; Problem No. 4 dealt on
the interventions to improve teaching practices in English.
Based on the analysis and interpretation of data, the findings are as follows: 1.)The
teachers involved in this study belong to age bracket of 23-61 years old and above, a greater
majority are females 49 or 87.0%, most of them are married, 48 or 87.3%, 44 or 87.0% are
with MaEd Units, and 21 or 38.8% have below 10 years length of service, likewise have been
attending trainings up to international levels; 2.) The teachers’ extent of multi-media based-
education practices involving innovative teaching approaches, use of instructional materials,
management of educational facilities and evaluation of learning outcomes is “extensive” as
indicated by the overall average weighted mean of 4.11. 3.) The respondents encountered
“moderately serious” in their extent of multi-media based-education practices as indicated by an
overall weighted mean of 3.25; 4.)Likewise, interventions to multi-media based-education was
practiced as indicated by the overall weighted mean of 3.90 “practiced”.
Based on the foregoing findings of this study, the following conclusions were formulated:
1.) The profile variables of the teachers indicates that they are qualified enough to be in the
teaching profession; 2.) The teachers’ extent of multi-media based-education practices being
just “extensive” apparently needs enhancement especially on innovative teaching approaches
and use of instructional materials; 3.) The problems seriously encountered by the teachers are
common problems by any teacher in the profession; 4.)The intervention measures to improve
the teaching practices in English are similar activities being used by other teachers to reduce
             problems encountered by them.
The following recommendations are set forth based on the findings and conclusions:
1.) All concerned teachers must be encouraged to finish their graduate degree in masteral
and doctoral to enhance their professional growth; 2.) Teachers should improve their multi-
media based-education practices especially in the innovative teaching approaches and use
of instructional materials to further enhance learners’ performance and achievement along
technology; 3.) A more carefully selected variables should further be identified specially, those
indicators for efficient practice of educational innovations; 4.) Similar researchers should be
made along other areas or parameters.
