and newborn care are Highly Implemented by the respondents, 4) broadly, there are no
significant differences in the implementation of the desired protocol by the respondents, except
in specific time sequences of implementation. Generally, the levels of implementation of the
protocol by the respondents are associated only in specific time sequences of implementation,
             5) the overall goal of the proposed enrichment program is to improve the health facility and the
levels of implementation by the respondents.
The following are the recommendations of the present study: 1) to encourage the
members of the Primary Health Care Team to stay in these particular health care facilities,
incentives in terms of increase salary commensurate to their qualifications and performance
in the Team are strongly recommended, 2) while the facilities of these institutions, where the
respondents are working, are highly adequate, at present, it is strongly recommended that the
administrations to continually update and upgrade their facilities, especially in those directly
related to providing essential intrapartum and newborn care, 3) it is also strongly recommended
that relevant in-services trainings for the members of the Primary Health Care Team be
regularly scheduled and implemented, 4) further, it is strongly recommended that evaluation
of implementation of the protocol on essential intrapartum and newborn care by the Primary
Health Care Teams be made in the specific time sequence implementation of the protocol. 5)
The proposed enrichment program should be regarded to improve the primary health care
facilities and the levels of implementation, 6) supplementary studies on the implementation of
the protocol on essential intrapartum and newborn care be conducted by other researchers, on
a wider scope, under the auspices of reputable Graduate Schools in the region.
