treatment. It also dealt on their attitude and self-care behavior towards their disease. Descriptive
research design was used in the study utilizing different statistical tools which includes frequency
counts and percentage, weighted mean and the t-Test. Most of the respondents belong to the
age bracket of 51 years old and above, males, married, high school graduate, with a monthly
income of 4,500-5,999, unemployed and Roman Catholic. On the extent of knowledge of the
respondents on tuberculosis, they were moderately knowledgeable on the three areas on signs
and symptoms, causes and treatment and slightly knowledgeable on mode of transmission.
Along attitude of the respondents on tuberculosis, it was found out to be “moderately agree”.
On their self-care behaviors, the respondents were found to be “moderately agree”. There exists
no significant difference between the ways of thinking, thoughts, emotions and feelings towards
TB and the way the patients respond to the disease. A positive significant relationship exists
between the knowledge of the patients on the signs and symptoms of TB and physical aspect.
Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions are drawn: The
respondents are older adults, predominantly belonging to the stronger sex, having their own
family, did not reach college, earning an average income, have no employment and belong to
the most dominated religion. The respondents had inadequate ideas or information pertaining to
TB. They lack the necessary attitude in managing their bodies to prevent TB. The respondents
were not aware on the different ways of preventing the disease because of low education. The
level of attitude and level of self-care behavior of the patients are comparable. The more aware
the patients are on signs and symptoms, the more they agree on doing the right practices.
Based on the conclusions of the study, the following are hereby recommended: The
respondents must be aware on their disease and how to prevent the recurrence of complications.
They must undergo patient’s classes sponsored by the City Health Office as the donor of their
free TB medicines. They must have a positive outlook in life by focusing on their treatment
to recover from the disease. They must know the different practices and right behavior to be
treated with their disease. They must continue helping themselves to be treated with their
disease. They must continue doing the right practices for them to be cured Future studies can
be done in a wider scope and using other variables of study.

This study focused on the nursing care management applied by the emergency room
nurses to patients with impairment. It dealt on the profile variables of the respondents that
include their age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment, religion, length of service
in the emergency room and number of seminars attended related to care of patient with

nurses to patients with impairment along emergency interventions and client education. This
study basically utilized the descriptive method of research where the main data gathering
