2. Ensure that the Ethernet connections are properly connected on all of the
alarm devices (refer to procedure 4.25 on page 4-68). They are properly
connected.
Yes No
↓ → Connect the Ethernet to all of the Alarm devices. If this solves
the problem, go to “Final Actions” on page 2-7. Otherwise, go to
step 3.
3. Check the LEDs on the Master Alarm Modules and the Area Alarm
Network Communications Boards. See “Master Alarm Power-Up” on page
1-60. Also see “Area Alarm Power-Up” on page 1-112. The LEDs that
indicate whether the alarms are communicating are flashing very rapidly.
Yes No
↓ → Call your facility’s Information Systems personnel to fix the
problem. If they fix the problem, go to “Final Actions” on page
2-7. Otherwise, call Hill-Rom Technical Support at
(800) 445-3720.
4. Have your facility’s Information Systems personnel check the ARP traffic
of the facility’s network. Heavy broadcast traffic can interfere with timely
Web service and data exchange between the Master Alarms and Area
Alarm Network Communications Boards. The broadcast traffic is heavy.
Yes No
↓ → Call Hill-Rom Technical Support at (800) 445-3720, then go to
“Final Actions” on page 2-7.
5. If there is excessive broadcast traffic, it usually means that there is a piece
of equipment on the facility’s network that is not operating properly. The
facility’s Information Systems personnel will have to eliminate some of the
traffic flow, by fixing their other equipment. The browsing works correctly
after the Information Systems personnel fix their other equipment.
Yes No
↓ → Call Hill-Rom Technical Support at (800) 445-3720.
6. Go to “Final Actions” on page 2-7.
NOTE:
