Parkside Football Club 1897/2017

Parkside continued their sublime form beating Altona in round 14.

“Altona came out all fired up against Parkside and really competed well until half-time. However
they could not keep up the pressure for the second half against the team who are second on the
               ladder.

The loss of Magpies' first rover Joe Patterson at the first centre bounce seemed to unsettle the
Magpies' on- bailers and halted their usual free-running flow for quite some time.

Nevertheless, the Vikings really gave it a good shot and with Andrew Venner controlling the back
line, Bradley Krygger doing well in the centre and Bobbie Evans and Glen James creating the play on
the forward line, they look very competitive.

Finally the Magpies got their game together and went on for a hard-fought win.

Michael Cammerino played well for best on the ground and received strong support from Ali Taleb,
Stephen Nielsen (eight goals), Greg Korcoushkas and Phil O'Keefe.”

Greg Karcoushkas – one of Parkside’s key players in the 1998 season

Round 15: “Parkside easily accounted for a disappointing Albion winning by 64 points. No doubt Port
Colts loss would give the Magpies a sniff of top place with three rounds to go. The loss to Parkside
really sealed the Cats' fate concerning the finals.Srecko Salopek gave a top performance and
controlled one wing all day while Zeno Tzatzaris, returning to the ones, controlled the backline.
Other Magpies to play well were Stephen Neilsen. Samir Cukovic and Bobby Sambevski.”

               Albion 8.9-57 Lt. Parkside 18.13-121
