5.1.1 Holidays
As part of the E3 benefits package, all regular full-time employees receive the paid federal holidays outlined below.
Employees who are not actively working or are on a Leave of Absence (LOA) are not eligiblefor this benefit. The
federal government is closed on each of the following pre-scheduled 10 holidays:
New Year’s Day Labor Day
Martin Luther King Jr. Columbus Day
President’s Day Veterans Day
Memorial Day Thanksgiving Day
Independence Day Christmas Day
Instead of reporting to an alternative work location, regular full-time E3 employees are given paid time off for these
holidays.
If you are required to work on one of the holidays listed above, you are able to take a floating holiday within the
next 30 calendar days. A floating holiday allows you to receive your holiday on another day.
5.1.2 Paid Time Off (PTO)
E3 recognizes that it is important for employees to take time off throughout the year. The need to take time off may
vary and can include, but is not limited to, vacation, personal or family illness, medical appointments, school
functions, volunteerism, and other activities, including any applicable paid sick leave laws. E3’s Paid Time Off (PTO)
benefit allows you to accrue hours to be used for time away from work in such instances and is intended to comply
with applicable paid sick leave laws. In an event where a paid sick leave law is more generous than this PTO policy,
E3 will comply with the paid sick leave law. All regular full-time employees are eligible for the benefit as indicated in
the chart outlined below. All part-time and other employees are eligible for the benefit on a pro-rated basis,
determined by the average number of hours worked within a pay period, at a rate of no less than 1 hour of PTO for
every 30 hours worked.
PTO hours are not accrued while an employee is on any type of unpaid leave of absence, unless applicable law
mandates otherwise.
Pay for PTO days will be paid on the regular pay cycle. PTO days do not count as hours worked for purposes of
calculating overtime hours.
In a calendar year (January 1 – December 31), all regular full-time employees will accrue PTO per semi-monthly pay
period according to the following schedule:
Length of Service: 0 – 4 years Start of 5 year to 10 Start of 11 year
th
th
years
PTO Accrued Semi-Monthly 5.0 hours 6.667 8.333
120 hours 160 hours 200 hours
Maximum Annual Accrual (3 weeks) (4 weeks) (5 weeks)
Scheduling PTO: We encourage at least a 2 week notice with the understanding that some last minute requests such
as unexpected family/personal emergency or personal illness may occur. In those cases, you must notify your E3
Manager as soon as possible but no later than the start of your workday, unless prohibited by an emergency
